Three Days To GO

Relief at last! Received emails from Chilean Consul in Melbourne authorising our transit visas. Because of the 90 day limitation, they cannot be issued until we are in that time frame. So they will be issued while we are at sea. The email states that we should show the email to Princess staff when boarding.

Have not been too worried as we had confirmation emails that our visa applications had been received and this would have been good enough to board. But any doubts have now been removed.

Ann had a practice pack and she was impressed with what she could pack and still be under the 23kg limit for the plane. We will pack on Friday. Getting very excited now. Daniel will take us to the airport on Saturday. We have our accommodation booked near Central Station in Sydney and will be able to walk from there to our hotel. Plan to get the train from Sydney airport. On Sunday we will get the train to circular quay and then walk to the Ship. About a ten minute walk. And then relax for the next 108 days!!

Chilean Visa Saga

Rang the embassy on Tuesday. Did not have any response to my email. Was told everything was in order and because there is a large number of applications they will all be issued at the same time. I was assured we would have something before we sailed. If we don't I will take copies of required documents so if necessary I can apply while at sea. At least I am pretty sure that we will not be the only ones with this problem.

One of the couples on the Roll Call has produced a calendar of our travels (see the link below).
