We wake up in Brisbane. The port is quite a distance from the city and we are docked in an industrial area. Nothing to see or do at the port. The ship has put on buses for $40 pp return which is cheaper than getting a cab. However they are set times - if you leave at 8.30 you return at 1.20. There were other times to leave but the return times were 4hrs 50 mins later. We decided to stay on board.
As we are docked the promenade deck is closed on one side for dock operations, so we head off to the gym for our morning exercise. Afterwards we rest on deck 14 above the pool area and read and enjoy some sunshine. We have been surprised by the lack of people generally. While there are plenty on board we have had no problem getting lifts and most of the time they arrive empty. Could be different now as we pick up the Brisbane leg. It is interesting that some people on board for the world cruise have already done 35 nights on this ship! These cruise ships never appear to stop they just keep going.
After lunch we had another session in the gym and then head off to trivia. Joined a team for this one and we had 14 out of 20. The winner had 19! The host was extremely funny and it was enjoyable.
Headed off for coffees and more relaxing until dinner. Don’t know if I can keep this pace up.
At dinner tonight we are in a table of eight. One couple is from Sorrento, another from Adelaide and one from Orange. It is a fun night. Today was an alcohol free day! So far we have been very disciplined - no wine at dinner. May lash out tomorrow night.
The entertainment tonight was a Johnny Cash tribute. The guy had a very good voice, but I did not realise most of Johnny Cash’s songs sound then same with different words the only standout. We are told that Johnny Cash has a library of over 1500 songs that he recorded. No wonder a lot sound the same.
Sea day tomorrow on our way to Komodo Island.

The ship sounds great, can’t wait to see photos of all your destinations- Kate
