Another bright sunny morning with clear skies and little wind and 25 degrees at 7am. This is another large port where shuttles are provided. Yesterday at Barcelona it was a cost of 9 euros for both of us, today it is 20 euros! These are provided by the port authorities. In Marseille Princess provided the shuttles and that was 50 euros for the both of us. Barcelona and Marseille were too far to walk, but if my knees were ok we could of walked into Malaga, as the distance was not that great and it looked like a lovely walk. But my knees being what they are and if we want to walk around the city, it is better to get a head start.
Malaga was a complete surprise to us. It is a beautiful city with wonderful buildings, very clean streets, pedestrian friendly with wide paved central area and then heaps of little narrow alleyways spiralling off the thoroughfare. The area is paved in what appears to be marble, it is a beautiful sight. It reminded us of Madrid but prettier.
We spent a couple of hours wandering around and as it was starting to get hot 32 degrees, we decided to head back. Back on board by 1.30, with four more bottles of wine smuggled on board, we each have a hamburger for lunch. It will soon be time to crack open that bottle of rose I have had sitting on ice since we left at 10.30.
We had a very nice Spanish rose on our balcony this afternoon. It was a Freixenet from Cataluyna. Today is our 42 day of the cruise, only 66 to go! At 6 pm the temperature was 35 degrees, at 9.30 it is still 32. Tonight our clock goes back another hour! Tomorrow we head through the strait of Gibraltar to Tangier, Morocco. We were supposed to sail at 7 pm, but it has been put back to 10 pm. If we had of known we might have gone back into the beach area.
