Ship seems to be very smooth sailing this morning. Look out the balcony at 7 am and it is - no wind, calm seas and 33 degrees. It is so calm we decide to do our walk on the promenade deck! It was an enjoyable walk, but very hot. We have passed Somalia and Djibouti and are now in the Red Sea between Eritrea and Yemen.
At 11 am the captain comes on to make an announcement. The ships engines are operating well, but the company has decided not to try to make up time. In stead we will arrive a day later at Aqaba, start the Suez Canal a day later, skip Mykonos and in lieu of Mykonos port at Sicily. The Aqaba trip is more important than Mykonos as there are a lot of people going to Petra from Aqaba and that requires a full day in port. It does not affect us too much as we have been to Mykonos before. Although Ann is upset as she read Chris and Liam Hemsworth were on Mykonos with Matt Damon and she was hoping to catch up. While I am sure the engine problems played a part in the delay, the previous bad weather would not have helped either. Hopefully the weather stays kind and we do not skip any more ports.
The afternoon remains calm and hot - 33 degrees. We go to the entertainment before dinner, it is the comedian for another show and he is just as funny!
As we head off after dinner it is still 33 degrees!
